The Department of State’s National Visa Center (NVC) saw an increase in the immigrant visa (IV) backlog, from 386,787 pending cases last month to 408,456 cases in February — a 5.6% increase.
The number of green card applicants whose cases were documentarily complete and therefore ready to be scheduled for an interview increased this month by nearly 20,000, from 422,954 to 444,828 (a documentarily complete case is one in which all the required forms and documents have been submitted to and accepted by the NVC and that the case is ready for an interview to be scheduled).

The number of people scheduled for green card interviews stayed roughly the same, with a small increase of around 200 from January to February. The NVC scheduled 36,372 interviews in February, compared to 36,167 interviews in January.
