Boundless has helped many families from Pakistan over last year. We've helped over 70,000 families in the last decade.
Here's how to apply for specific visas, contact the U.S. embassy in Pakistan, and more:
K-1 Fiancé Visa
General process
Looking to apply for a K-1 fiancé visa? The general K-1 visa process looks the same for Pakistani citizens as it does for applicants from other countries. More information on K-1 wait times, costs, and requirements can be found in Boundless’ K-1 guide. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of K-1 costs and processing times:

Marriage-Based Green Cards
General Process
If you and your partner are already married, or considering marriage soon, you may be thinking about applying for a marriage-based green card. Similar to the K-1 visa, the marriage-based green card process is standard for Pakistani citizens. Wait times, costs, and requirements differ depending on where the Pakistani spouse lives and whether the sponsoring spouse is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. More information can be found in Boundless’ marriage-based green card guide. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the costs and processing times for your specific situation:

Immigrating with Children
K-2 Visas
Looking to immigrate from Pakistan with your children? If you’re going the K-1 visa route, the K-2 visa may be a good option for your family. The K-2 visa can be used by the children of a K-1 fiancé visa holder to enter the United States and immigrate with their parent at the same time.
Boundless can help you include any unmarried children under the age of 21 on your K-1 fiancé visa application for no extra charge. Learn more about what we do to help.
IR-2 Child Visas
If you’re a U.S. citizen and your child is living in Pakistan, it may be possible to sponsor them for a green card through the IR-2 child visa process. More information on the process and requirements can be found in Boundless’ IR-2 guide.
Boundless can help you include your children on your green card application for just $450 per child. Check your family’s eligibility here.
U.S. Embassy Information

Islamabad, Pakistan

For questions regarding immigrant visas, applicants in Pakistan can contact the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad directly using their Immigrant Visa Inquiries Form. The Embassy should respond within 5 days.
Special Considerations
immigration options
While the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad is accepting applications for most immigrant and non-immigrant visa categories, they are not, in most cases, permitted to process Afghan Special Immigrant Visas (SIV). This goes for the U.S. Consulates in Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar, as well. Certain applicants may, however, be eligible for an SIV.
If applicants need to contact the National Visa Center (NVC) about an ongoing SIV case, they can send an email to AfghanSIVapplication@state.gov or call +1-603-334-0888 (Monday through Friday). If applicants have already received approval for Form I-360, they can send an email to NVCSIV@state.gov. If applicants want to transfer their case to an Embassy or Consulate outside of Afghanistan, they can read more about the process on the U.S. Department of State’s website.
general announcement
The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad is now conducting a small number of immigrant (and non-immigrant) visa interviews and hopes to return to their normal day-to-day operations as soon as possible. Many applicants have already paid the visa application processing fee but have not been scheduled for an interview. For this reason, the validity period for all visa processing payments has been extended to September 30, 2023. If applicants need to travel to the United States for emergency reasons, they may be eligible to obtain an Expedited Appointment. The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad has provided guidance for those interested in this option.
general announcement
In general, once an immigrant visa is approved, the Embassy will tell the applicant how to retrieve their passport and visa. Applicants should check for any errors on their new visa, once received. If they find an error, they should contact the Embassy immediately. Applicants should read through the “After the Interview” section on the State Department’s website, where they’ll learn more about the process of entering the United States.
